Supplements can be very helpful when used appropriately and are good quality and meant to be used in conjunction with diet and lifestyle changes.
Everyone wants a “magic pill” but…that is not how real healing happens. Most supplements do not meet the FDA quality standards which is why I am very picky about any patient recommendations regarding brands or specific products.
Do NOT purchase from third party sellers on eBay or Amazon; counterfeit products exist and if not counterfeit may be expired or stored in conditions that damages them.
Do AVOID multilevel marketing brands as generally they have non-therapeutic/low dosages, high prices, and unsupported/exaggerated claims. You should take supplement advice from qualified practitioners, not salespeople.
Do Stick with reputable retailers like Whole Foods, Olympia Coop, PCC or locally owned health food stores. Never use big box store brands—I love Costco for many reasons but their supplements are not one of them.
My patients are NEVER required to buy from me, but I want them to get high quality, appropriately dosed and safe products.
